Design and Create the Cut-out Top!

Location: Madison Community House (Thursday Morning Club)

Fridays for 8 weeks: April 1, 8, 22, 29, May 6, 13 & 20, June 3rd (Weather Date: June 10)

4:30-5:30 p.m. (Grades 2nd – 4th, Ages 7-9) Beginner

No sewing experience necessary. Co-ed classes.

Cost: $240 (includes fabrics, trims, and sewing supplies as well as use of sewing machines. If a student has their own machine they know how to use, feel free to bring it along!)

Have you ever dreamed of becoming a fashion designer? Your dreams can come true! In all of our classes, we walk you through all of the fashion design steps and show you what it takes to be a fashion designer.

Time to switch out your Winter wardrobe with new Spring styles! We have the perfect sewing project to add to your Spring wardrobe: The Cut-out Top! This project is perfect for beginners or even advanced beginners who are looking to grow their fashion sewing skills. This project is also perfect as the weather gets warmer, and we are going to teach you how to make it! We will also create matching scrunchies and other accessories as the time allows. You will start with sketching and rendering your design. Measuring, pinning and cutting out your design. Already know how to use a sewing machine? Great! Otherwise we will teach you.

The class fee includes all fabric, trims, notions and use of the sewing machines.

If you have your own machine and want to bring it to class to use it that’s great. You need to make sure you know how to use it otherwise, we offer how to private sewing lessons. Your machine also needs to be working properly if not have it serviced. Please ask us before bringing your machine we can advice you what you may need. You can bring your machine starting the second to third week of class.

Sew your garment together then fit the design to work for you, lastly finish the design. At the end of the classes we will hold a virtual fashion show to share with your family.

Social distancing will be followed throughout the 8-week sessions to keep us all safe. Face masks are mandatory. Supplies will be passed out and used solely by the individual designer.
