Grades 5-12 all welcome. Some sewing experience needed at an Advanced Beginner level.

Details/Description

Our home studio sessions are becoming more detailed. We’re taking our designers from the sketch pad, NYC fabric shopping, sloper & pattern development, fabric construction to the final fit & final product to the photo shoot & the runway.

Week 1 & 2 .— Our instructor Natalie will take you thru sketching your collection. Her expertise fashion illustration major will further assist our designers in their fashion design sketching skills.

Week 3 — Our team of instructors, with the help of Project Runway Season 10’s Nathaniel Paul, will select the fashion piece for the project to be executed. Plan and determine fabric usage. Measure and make your sloper.

Week 4 — NYC fabric shopping, trim and notions for our project.

Week 5 — Paper pattern development.

Week 6 — Fabric cut out, start pinning & sewing.

Week 7 — Pin & sew the garment together.

Week 8 — Fitting & final details. Photo shoot and runway.

All of our instructors will be on hand to share and assist these designers with the design process. Ms. Natalie sketch & illustration, Ms. Stacey cut & sewing construction.

For designers in 5-12 grades. Must have Advanced Beginner skills. Fabric is not included in the 8 week session. NYC trip transportation is included in the above fee. Trip will leave from a train station at 12:30; arrive back home at 4:00.

Payment plan available half due at registration $160.00. Balance due at the 5th week of the class.
