Virtual Fashion Design the Art of Draping
Have you ever dreamed of becoming a fashion designer? Well here is your chance!
Fashion Design 2: The Art of Fashion Draping
What is draping? Draping is an important part of a fashion designers’ development in Fashion. By taking fabric, folding, cutting and pinning it to the mannequin she or he gets a feel for how the design will look & how the fabric will move.
In our previous fashion design course, we focused on learning to research and develop theme boards. In this course we will learn another part of the fashion design process; the art of draping! Each student will be provided with their own miniature mannequins as well as a mystery assortment of fashion fabrics. The aspiring fashion designers will learn how to pin and drape the fabric on the mannequins to show off their designs in 3-dimensional form! The class will also teach how to design and render different styles and fabrics, fashion vocabulary, and what it means to be a fashion designer. The end goal is to create a runway-ready fashion line!
