Expired Summer 2019 NYC Field Trip to the Metropolitan Museum-July 12th

Fashion First Workshops has planned a trip for our designers!

 

Itinerary

Our day starts out from Madison train station

[south side] at 9:00 am, we will arrive at 10:30 in NYC taking a direct bus uptown to the upper east side.

Lunch at Serafina’s, they have delicious Pizza & other fine Italian dishes.

Next stroll along Madison Ave. Shopping for inspiration visiting Emmelle and many more famous shops. Walk over to the Met Museum exploring the exhibit Unpacking Fashion.

 

                                The exhibition CAMP-Notes of Fashion

        Through more than 250 objects dating from the seventeenth century to the present,

         The Costume Institute’s spring 2019 exhibition explores the origins of camp’s exuberant aesthetic. Susan Sontag’s

        1964 essay “Notes on ‘Camp'” provides the framework for the exhibition, which examines how the elements of irony,
        humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion.

 

Head back to Mid-town on a direct bus to Penn Station

order our much-needed smoothie or refreshment.  We’ll then board our train home around 4:00 Parents are asked to be at the train station at 5:00 for pick-up on the north side. Exact train pickup and drop off details will be advised at a later date.

 

Designers 10 and older no chaperon needed. Otherwise, required.

Fee for the day including trains, am snack, lunch, afternoon smoothie or refreshment.
