1-3:30 Fall Fun Week- Do you love fashion design but, have no sewing experience? Do you want to learn how to sew using a sewing machine? We have the perfect class for you! Here at Fashion First Workshops we’ve planned a whole week of easy breezy summer sewing projects just for you. Beginner or even advanced beginners will brush up on their skills in this week long camp of designing and sewing! First we will start out simple by upcycling a t-shirt into a pillow case (bring a t-shirt you love but no longer wear!). Next we will step it up a notch and make either a drawstring skirt or pj shorts. Then we will make a drawstring bag, perfect for a day out or even as a pj bag to keep at home! Finally, to finish our fun-filled week, we will make a cute scrunchy or a face mask. Don’t worry, it’s all easy breezy!

Day 1- learn how to use the  machine and what makes it tick. You will make a pillow case using an upcycled t-shirt as your first project

Day 2- Design and make your very own PJ Bottoms make them short or a capri length  or a fun fall skirt

Day 3- Continue making our PJ Bottoms or short

Day 4- Design and make a drawstring bag

Day 5- Fun Friday we will explore making scrunchies and/or a face mask using fun fashionable fabrics

So, come join us for this fun sewing week. Where you will explore sewing and making lots of fun projects!!!!

Our students [Fashion Designers] start with the sketch (croquis), technical details, choosing and rendering the fabric, learning the proper way to make a pattern, including measuring each other, understanding the importance of this process and the fit of the garment. They learn how to pin and sew using a sewing machine.  Then, they sew the entire garment including the final fitting. Finally, on the last day of our camp, we hold our individual virtual Fashion Show. During our fashion summer camp weeks, if time allows, we add individual fashion challenges (i.e. Newspaper challenges, trash bag challenges), for our designers to explore their inner most creativity. No sewing experience necessary. All fabric, supplies and use of the sewing machines are included.
