Expired Teen & Adult Sewing Basics

Description:

We will go over all the basics from how to measure and look at the garment to either to let it out or taking it in on a skirts, pants, etc. We will help guide you in taking garment apart as needed and basing to make sure the adjustments are correct before sewing it completely. Empower yourself with the skills to mend, alter, and transform your clothes. From fixing a loose button to creating the perfect hem, you’ll leave our workshop with newfound confidence in your sewing abilities.

Information:

• Classes will be held on Thursdays and every other Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7 pm.
• Bring your own garments in that you want to work on.
• No sewing experience needed!
• Classes are unisex

Classes:

• Button sewing and mending- Jan 11
  • Learn about different types of buttons and the anatomy of a button. Step-by-step guide on sewing buttons securely.
  • Explore common clothing issues and their mending solutions. Patching small holes.Repairing loose seams.
• Hemming pants, skirts etc. -Jan 25
  • Say farewell to tripping over too-long hems! Discover the techniques for achieving flawless hems on both
  • Learn how to hand sew hem or sewing machine hem.
• Simple alterations – Feb 8
  • Learn about how to tailor your garments to your desired length and style. Master the basics of altering ill-fitting garments to suit your body shape.
  • Will learn how to take in or let out your clothing.
• Add zipper or replace zipper – Feb 22
  • Fear no zipper! Whether adding a zipper to a project or replacing a worn-out one, unlock the secrets of seamless zipper application.
  • Learn about different zippers. Learn what zipper to use if you want to add a zipper. Will help you remove a worn-out with a new one.

Fee:

• $25.00 per class
• All supplies & equipment provided
