Design and Create the Raglan Sweat Top!

Fashion First Workshops teaches kids what it takes to be a fashion designer. We will walk you through all of the steps to create a Raglan Sweat Top from measuring, cutting, designing, to using a sewing machine. Complete a garment that you can show off anywhere! Not only is it cozy for winter and spring, but it also transitions into summer for those windy beach trips. This top can be both trendy and casual all in one, and we are going to teach you how to make it! We will also create matching scrunchies and other accessories as the time allows. You will start with sketching and rendering your design. Measuring, pinning and cutting out your design. Already know how to use a sewing machine? Great! Otherwise we will teach you.

The class fee includes all fabric, trims, notions and use of the sewing machines. If you have your own machine and want to bring it to class and use it that’s great, please do! You can bring your machine starting the second week of class. Sew your garment together then fit the design to work for you, lastly finish the design. At the end of the classes we will hold a fashion show to share with your family.

Maximum # of students is 12. Minimum # of students is 6.

This program will be run in accordance with New Jersey Department of Health COVID-19 safety guidelines, including social distancing and face coverings. Parents/guardians of minor registrants will need to read and agree to an online COVID-19 legal waiver. Registrants should bring their own face coverings.
